The temple is situated right in front of the Tungabhadra. Legend says that this is the place where Lord Rama Crowned Sugriva as the King of Kishkindha. The word Kondarama means “Crowned by Rama”. Inside the temple, one can see three large statues of Sri Rama , Sita and Lakshman. Right in front of the temple, you would find many local people ready to take you for a coracle ride in the river. They would charge in the range of 300-500 and would show you various temples and mandapas between the river.
