Hampi is not a gourmet’s paradise. Being a sacred place you won’t find any restaurant serving liquor and non-vegetarian food. Although You can find lots of small restaurants all over the place offering decent Chinese , Italian , Mexican , Israeli and Indian food at inexpensive prices. An Italian Pizza would cost mere Rs 100. Most of the main course dishes are priced under Rs 100. If you want to have beer and non-veg food, you have to cross the river and go to Virapur Gaddi.

Just next to the Virupaksha Temple. Offers really delicious Italian food. Italian is their speciality and they prepare their pizzas in Italian wooden ovens. Offer a wide range of Cuisines . Full fledged Indian Thali for Rs 130.
Famous for the view you get while having your food. Decent food at inexpensive prices. Getting here is an adventure in itself. You have to walk through the banana plantations and then you are offered a place right in front of the Tungabhadra river. A sign would indicate you to remove your shoes before entering the restaurant. Definetly try the cashew curry here and avoid french fries and momos.
Virapur Gaddi Restaurants ( In order of recommendation )
To reach here you have to cross the river Tungabhadra using a ferry which costs around Rs 10-15 per person. You can get beer and non-vegetarian food here which you won’t get anywhere in Hampi.
Plays movies and music on demand along with your food. Offers a very comfortable seating. You have to remove your shoes before entering. Do try their Chicken Sizzlers. You can find many foreigner tourists chilling out here. Serves beer.
